Description

This is a day release course for young people in employment. If you are not in employment you should apply direct to a training provider such as Skills Solution. This course requires you to complete twelve individual modules throughout the two years of the course, for you to receive the full certificate for the course. The course consists of a central core of essential subjects, with optional pathways in Manufacturing or Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Throughout the course you will cover the core subjects of Maths; Science; Business Systems; Project; Communication; Electrical and Electronic Principles. In addition you will cover specialist units of study, which include, Electronic Computer Aided Design and Analysis; Electrical Installation; Electronics; Three Phase Systems; Three Phase Motors and Drives; Programmable Controllers. There is also an integrated vocational assignment (IVA), which is externally assessed.

Progession detail

Having successfully completed the course, you will have the option of moving straight into employment or furthering your studies in this area through a HNC in Electrical Engineering, available at the college. HNC in Electrical Engineering.
